Resumo

Busca-se no presente artigo, por meio de revisão bibliográfica clássica, apresentar uma visão geral e sistemática das bactérias Chlamydiae, conceituando-as e caracterizando seu ciclo de vida e suas múltiplas manifestações infecciosas. Com tal postura, pretende-se oferecer informações metódicas e seguras aos não especialistas de tal forma que eles possam divulgá-las e popularizá-las, diminuindo, assim, a ocorrência de algumas patologias ligadas à referida bactéria.
